Hi everyone,

It's a bit too late to wish you all a Happy New Year 2012 but I would like to share with you a little event, very special to me.
When I was at the Comicket in December 2011, I succeeded to get my hands on these doujinshi (and another one from Shirow Miwa but I may post the pictures in another update) while I didn't have high hopes...

tsukushi 1

For those who can remember, does the name "Akihito Tsukushi" ring a bell ?! To me, it means a lot since he is the one who got me interested in details (and he is in my favorite artists list)... At that time, his drawings were blowing my mind litteraly and I found his works fresh and warming. He even wrote in my guestbook when my old website was still up in 2002... I was (and I'm still) a complete fan of his drawings so seeing his doujinshi at the Comicket let me feel nostalgic.
I have bought Tsukushi's newest story "From Star Strings" and I'm still in love with his art style. The story is touching despite being in japanese and you can understand nearly everything without knowing the language (though I have a friend who can translate it). Plus the main character is so cute !!

tsukushi 2

I also have a little book which is a compilation of roughs and CGs arts :

tsukushi 3

I can assume that without him, I may be not able to achieve what I'm today. The best part is I actually met him (to be a foreigner can be a good thing sometimes) !! We couldn't talk for long because he couldn't talk properly in english, but from what I can expect from this first contact is he is a really nice person !!!  He also left some doodle on my copy (unvaluable to me).

tsukushi 4

Thus, these doujinshi are like treasures to me, a part of a memory I don't want to forget, just to remind me where I come from.
Akihito Tsukushi, thank you for everything !!

This said, I also want to thank 2 friends of mine who took part in this memorable trip in Japan !!

Now that I think of it, I recently took part in an interview for a digital magazine. I usually don't like this osrt of thing but I have to admit the questions were very interesting, way more than usual... Even if I don't know if I was the right person to do this. If you want to read how it has ended up as a result, you can check this link :

Well, I guess this is all for now. Sorry for not feeding my journal often but I'm not used to put down my daily life in a journal... Living it is enough already. Otherwise, I'm working for another publisher on a new title... But just some professional work I would said, nothing like BB Project or Outlaw Players (a reboot still in the process though).

See ya all.

Do you have a link to your webcomic? I also saw something mentioned about a fanbook a while back but I can't seem to find anything.

Finally found your DA account(took me like forever lol). I love the BB Project. Hoping you'll be able to start it again soon.

My fav character is Kugimiya(hoping Frank gets to battle her again). If you could do a color pic of of her with her hoody that would be cool.If not, thats ok. I'm just happy I found your DA today :).

So Years and years and years ago, I stumbled upon a little internet site. To this day I could not tell you how I managed to find it but the things I saw impressed me to no end. It was a young man calling himself Shonensan, who drew the most amazing Guilty Gear fan art. This was about the time that GG had just been released here in America and I was a big fan myself. Over the years I followed this young mans career, his site grew more and more. Comics were added, he started to color his pictures. A little rough at first but the photoshop skills quickly improved with every picture he posted. Needless to say at one time, the images stopped appearing on his website. Right about the time he bought himself a new Waccom Tablet, He had made himself a poster of Death and some girl with his scythe. I kept checking back time and time again trying to see if he ever posted anything new on the site and some how over the years I lost the site entirely... Yet, every sad story has a silver lining. Because here you are, granted you dont seem to have nearly the amount of art up that you had on your website. But, it is you. I feel I should tell you how much of an inspiration you have been to me over these years. Your gift has given me courage to pursue my own career in the art feild. I must admit I am now Shonen San but I hope to one day rise to the occasion. Please keep up the good work, you never know who might be watching you, and who your art work effects. Thank you for the years of great peices of art.

Hah, thanks for the support but the last sentence sounds as if I were retired... That's right I don't post that much anymore but I'm still alive and all.
I'm aware my works can bring some inspiration to people and I'm glad about that, but I have to admit I draw especially because I'm looking for something, some kind of goal...
Anyway, I'm pretty amazed you spent many years to witness my evolution and I'm sorry if you may feel let down by the lack of news.
I think I need some time to regain some confidence to push forward.
Thanks for the message !!

Shonen

ps : what do you mean by saying you're now Shonen San ?! It's the name you use ?
